Major scientific focus
Dr. Luigi Buonaguro is the major contributor in the literature on the development and evaluation of Virus-Like Particles as vaccine approach to HIV.
He is one of the pioneer in applying a systems biology approach to evaluation of vaccines.
He is currently leading two large European Consortia focused on the development of cancer vaccine approaches targeting hepatocellular carcinoma (www.hepavac.eu; www.hepamut.eu ).
