Toms Baumanis

Toms Baumanis has been working in Riga Stradins University since 2008. He has been Rector’s advisor for strategic development from 2008 until 2012 and Vice-Rector for Development from 2012 until 2018. Starting from 2018 Toms Baumanis has gained more responsibilities and become Vice-Rector for Administration and Development.    
He has managed to hold more than one office. While working as Vice Rector, he has been a board member of several RSU affiliates – the Nuclear Medicine Centre since 2013 and The Institute of Stomatology since 2014. He has worked as chairman of the board of clinic “DiaMed” from 2006 until 2012, and as Public relations and Communication manager in Latvia’s office of the World Bank from 1999 until 2006.

Currently Toms Baumanis is a lecturer of RSU health management teaching group and has previously worked as a lecturer in the RSU Faculty of European Studies.

Toms Baumanis has a Master’s degree in International Relations from University of Latvia (1995) and MBA in Business Management from Riga Business School (2008).

He has received several significant state awards, including The Order of Viesturs (2007), The Cross of Recognition (2011) and Prime Minister’s Recognition Award for significant contribution in higher education development in Latvia and reaching Riga Stradins University goals.
